Personal care includes supporting people with a range of daily activities and tasks, depending on their level of need. It is very important that you support the person to do as many of the tasks for themselves and only provide assistance for those tasks they cannot do. Each person you work with will have different needs depending on the type of disability, impairment or condition they have; where they live and who lives with them; their personal beliefs; their cultural background; their preferences and life experiences; and other individual characteristics.

In this topic you will learn how to:

1D       Consider specific cultural needs of the person
