Abuse or harm are terms used to describe actions that may damage a person, such as a physical attack or verbal abuse that causes the person being verbally abused to feel devalued. Neglect refers to circumstances where an individual is not provided with the basic conditions necessary to ensure their wellbeing such as when a child is not given enough to eat or is left unattended.
